Real Life, Good Food

Before you cook

Ready, set, cook!

Food professionals sometimes use the French phrase ‘mise en place’ (pronounced meez-ahn-plahs) which means to ‘put in place’ when describing the process of setting up everything needed to prepare a dish or menu item. When you start cooking, look for these steps outlined in the video below in the recipe you are using -- it will help guide your mise en place!
