Move
Eating healthy is just one part of living a healthy lifestyle. Physical activity is essential for health; in fact, inactivity can be just as hazardous to your health as smoking.
The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommends adults get 30 minutes of activity a day, most days of the week. For children, the guidelines suggest 60 minutes a day.
When it comes to moving, some activity is better than none and more is better. Any amount of physical activity will provide health benefits. There are many ways to be physically active. Finding the one that you really like makes being active more fun and you’re more likely to do it.
You don’t need to pay for a fancy gym membership to be active. You can find ways to get moving outside, at work, or even in your kitchen. All you really need is yourself and a plan, but with some basic equipment that you might already have around your house, you can challenge yourself even more.
