If you’d like to up your activity level and add weights or other types of resistance, you don’t need to spend a lot of money. You might already have equipment you can use!

Cans

A 15 ounce canned food item works well as a free weight.  Watch for more tips on using items from you kitchen to enhance your workout.

Bag of flour

For exercises that work larger muscle groups, you may need something a little heavier. A bag of flour works great, just make sure it’s not open!

Resistance bands

These stretchy bands can be purchased at a low cost and don’t take up as much space as weights. Plus they’re portable, so you can take them with you to be active wherever you’d like.

Balance ball

The balance ball can be used to improve flexibility and strength for a low impact workout. Follow along with the video to learn more about finding the right fit and safely using a balance ball.
